Health Orbs are items which can heal the player on pick up. They're a common method of healing in Story Mode during exploration, and are also used in Arcade Mode to heal the player in between floors.

Effect

In Story Mode, Health Orbs heal the player for 20% of their max HP on pickup.

In Arcade Mode, Health Orbs heal the player for 30% of their max HP. This value can be increased by +30% if the treat Better Healing is selected, and by another +30% if playing on Catalyst of Power or below, totalling for a 90% heal.

Regardless of the game mode, the healing provided by Health Orbs can also be increased through the Halloweed Card (15% increase) or the Health Insurance Talent (10% per Talent Level).

Obtaining

Story Mode

In Story Mode, Health Orbs are common drops from enemies while at low health. The drop chance is based on the current HP of all players, and increases as players take more damage.

In addition to regular drops, Health Orbs can also be freed from Crystals in Mt. Bloom's Gas Hallway, and from Crystals in the intermission between Mimic's second and third phase.

Arcade Mode

In Arcade Mode, Health Orbs can be obtained in two ways:

  • A Health Orb spawns on each floor's Start Room (with the exception of Pillar Mountains)
  • Bishop's Bet reward has a chance to be replaced with a Health Orb

The starting room Health Orb persist across rooms, so it can be taken later if needed. If the player enters the floor with full HP, it will be replaced with a Potion health-0.png Health Potion instead.

After a bet is completed, Bishop has a chance to swap an individual player's reward with a Health Orb. The chance to drop is equal to the player's missing HP percentage, and is guaranteed if the player is below 20% HP. Unlike the start room orb, this one will not persist between rooms.

Grindea Statues may contain a Health Orb reward that will heal the player for 40% of their Max HP. This isn't an actual Health Orb pickup, but rather a direct heal. It is also unaffected by talents, treats or difficulty choices.
