These odd creatures are said to have come to life through some ancient magic in Pumpkin Woods, where they're mostly to be found.

With its appearance of a carved pumpkin and the speed of a ferret, these guys have scared the hell out of people since they were first discovered!

Jumpkins are pumpkin-like enemies that can be encountered in Pumpkin Woods. They move and attack by jumping towards a point, and bite down when landing, dealing damage to things in front of them.

Behavior

Movement

Jumpkins move to the nearest player by jumping towards their position. Jumpkins move faster on Hard difficulty, and Elite Jumpkins move faster than regular ones on average.

While idle, Jumpkins randomly move around with small hops.

Bite

When landing, Jumpkins bite and deal ATK damage in front of them. This can damage pets and players if they happen to be in front of the monster, even if they're not explicitly targeted.

The bite attack can be shielded. Shielding the attack causes regular Jumpkins to delay their next attack by a small amount, with the delay being smaller on Hard difficulty. Elite Jumpkins do not get delayed at all, and will continue attacking their target.

Perfect Guarding the bite attack will stop both regular and Elite enemies, delaying them by a great amount. This also applies to all Jumpkins that attack your shield during Perfect Guard Deflection (which lasts for 1.5 seconds after a Perfect Guard).

Tips

  • Jumpkins target your position at the start of the jump, and not continuously. As long as you're moving around and keeping your distance, they will miss their attacks and won't hurt you
  • Against multiple Jumpkins, you can Perfect Guard the very first one that makes contact with you, then hold your shield to block the rest of the Jumpkins. Due to Perfect Guard Deflection, all Jumpkins will be interrupted for an extended period of time, allowing you to kill them easily with Basic Attacks
  • Regular Jumpkins can usually be killed in 1-2 Two-Handed Basic Attacks, and 2-3 One-Handed ones
    • They can also be stunned and killed quickly using a few Wand Projectiles
  • Elite Jumpkins are likely to reach you before you can charge up a skill. Consider interrupting them using a Perfect Guard, Basic Attack, or a fast skill (such as Blade Flurry) before attempting to kill them
