Pins are unique items that can be found during Arcade Mode. They grant special abilities to the character, and up to 4 of them can be equipped at any time.

Obtaining

Pins can be obtained in three ways:

  • Defeating a Boss Room
  • Succeeding at a Challenge Room
  • Defeating a Pin Lood before it flies away in Normal Rooms

Pins will only drop once per run; once dropped, that particular Pin will not appear for the rest of the run.

Upon meeting the Traveller, they will drop a Pin for the player. This can only happen once per save file, as afterwards the Traveller will be found in Arcadia from then on.

Mechanics

Upon picking up a Pin, it can be equipped in any free Pin slot, swapped with any Pins that are not Sticky, or disposed of (if the player deems it unwanted or doesn't have any free slots left).

Some Pins are Sticky, meaning that they will be locked into their Pin slot once equipped. In most cases, this means that their effects become permanent, and the Pin will be unable to be swapped out, or discarded for the remainder of the run. Some exceptions to this rule are Pins that break (lose their effect upon activating, effectively rendering the Pin slot useless), or vanish (get discarded upon activating, allowing new Pins to be inserted afterwards).

Sticky Pins only become locked in once equipped; they can be picked up and discarded as long as they're not inserted in a slot.

If you have the Traveller available in Arcadia, encountered Pins will be recorded in their collection. It's only necessary to see the Pin to unlock its collection entry, meaning that you can discard unwanted Pins and still unlock their details in the log.

Note: sorting the table by the Icon will sort in Symbol -> Shape -> Color order.

Hybrid ATK is calculated as 50% of ATK + MATK. 50% of your Hybrid Damage would be 25% of your ATK and MATK combined.

Non-Offensive skills include Cloud Strike, Berserker Style, Shadow Clone and Frosty Friend.

Potion Pins will only appear if the Alchemist has been unlocked.
