Potions
Potions are items that grant the player various buffs and restore health and energy on use. To use potions, the player needs to have available potion flasks in which to store them.
In Story Mode, the player receives their first potion flask upon visiting Remedi for the first time, while two more can be gained from the quests he offers as the story progresses.
In Arcade Mode, the player is limited to two potions flasks: they receive the first potion flask upon building the Alchemy Shop, and the second one upon rescuing Pott.
Potion Mechanics
Potions can be used by quick slotting the potion flasks, then selecting the potion to be drank.
Upon using the potion, the character does a short drinking animation before activating the effect. If the player is interrupted by damage from enemies, the animation will be cancelled, and the potion will not be consumed. Drinking a potion while under the effects of a Perfect Guard buff will make the process 3x faster.
Upon consumption, the corresponding potion flask will be empty, and will be put on cooldown. Outside of combat, the player suffers from an 80% refill speed penalty, making the potions refill 5 times as slow. Only one potion is refilled at a time.
Each flask must contain an unique potion; it's not possible to fill the flasks with duplicates.
Story Mode
In Story Mode, the player can have a maximum of 3 flasks, depending on the story progression.
Potions refill both inside and outside of combat. Out of combat refill is capped at 20% of the normal refill rate, and combat refill is 100% of the normal rate.
Completing the quest The Remedy will grant the player Gilded Flasks, which will increase potion recharge speed by 25%.
Arcade Mode
In Arcade Mode, the player can have a maximum of 2 flasks, depending on the Arcadia progression. The player can also unlock the Lightning Potion and Gilded Flasks with 10 Golden Essence each.
Potion refill outside of combat is disabled, though the combat refill is still 100% of the normal rate. Additionally, the Spirit Potion suffers from a massive cooldown of 40 seconds.

Archer Potions
If the player has Level 3 Fine Taste, a fifth arrow will spawn.
Hex Potion
Upon use, the player transforms into an invulnerable Chicken for 5 seconds. The player can still move around normally, but they will be unable to cast any spells or use items, though attacking stops the hex effect early.
If attacked while in Chicken form, the player will be forced to flee from the most recent damage source at a 25% faster movement speed for 2 seconds, and the option to manually cancel the debuff will be disabled for some time.
If exiting Chicken form (either from the effect expiring or by manually cancelling), the player will gain invulnerability for 0.5 seconds.
Wealth Potion
While the effect is active, each coin dropped from enemies will have a 60% chance to spawn a duplicate coin of the same tier. The effect is similar to the Golden Earrings special effect, though the rolls are done separately.
Bounty Potion
Bounty potion multiplies the item and card drop chances by 1.2. This means that 20% of the drop chance for an item or card is added to the current rate.
Lightning Potion
Thunder Orbs last for 15 seconds, and deal 50% ATK + 50% MATK damage on each strike.
If the player has Level 3 Fine Taste, a fifth Thunder Orb will spawn. The additional orbs spawned by drinking other potions aren't affected by this, however.
Trivia
- Potions have suffered multiple changes over the game's development. Initially, they were consumable items that had to be purchased from Remedi. Eventually, Health potions were cut from the list of items he sold, the reason being that it made players take less care while grinding. Additionally, Remedi's quest introduced the Gale Potion to his shop.
- Consumable potions from early game development could be used as pet food. With the new potion flask update, this functionality was taken by dedicated pet food that can be purchased from Oak.
