In addition to normal weapons, the game also features Bows. They can be fired by pressing their Quick Slot button, and consume arrows. While not as strong as regular weapons, they can still prove useful as a sidearm, or when the player has no ranged spells available.

Main Weapons

Main Weapons are items that can be equipped in the weapon inventory slot. The most common stats for them are ATK and MATK, though other stats and special effects can also be encountered. Main Weapons can be used to do a Basic Attack that deals damage based on the weapon's stats and class.

Weapons are split in four classes:

• One-Handed (1H)
  • Melee
  • Magic
• Two-Handed (2H)
  • Melee
  • Magic

The class of a weapon determines the melee skills that can be used, and the properties of Basic Attacks; additionally, magic weapons can fire projectiles when doing Basic Attacks.

Basic Attack Damage Mechanics

Weapons deal different damage based on their class:

• 1H Melee weapons scale with ATK, and have a multiplier of 77% towards final damage
• 2H Melee weapons scale with ATK, and have a multiplier of 100% towards final damage
• Magic weapons scale with both ATK and MATK, but have a multiplier of 40% towards final damage

In addition to the type, each weapon has its own multiplier attached to it. For most 1H weapons, this multiplier is 90%, while for 2H weapons it is 125%. The exception to this rule is the Wooden Sword, which has a multiplier of 85%.

This means that a player with 100 ATK, 50 MATK, and a 2H magic weapon, a Basic Attack would deal (100 + 50) * 0.4 * 1.25 = 75 damage on each direct hit.

One-Handed Weapons

One-Handed (1H) weapons are characterized by their quick speed and low damage, with Basic Attacks that consist of a quick slash in front of the player.

If doing Basic Attacks with a 1H Magic weapon, without directly hitting anything, the weapon will also fire an orb that deals 40% of the user's MATK as damage to the first enemy it collides with.

Two-Handed Weapons

Two-Handed (2H) weapons are characterized by their slow speed and high damage, with the Basic Attacks consisting of a slow swing that can hit enemies in a wide area.

If doing Basic Attacks with a 2H Magic weapon, the weapon will also fire a wave that deals 40% of the user's MATK as damage to all enemies in its path. This happens regardless if the player hit anything, but enemies damaged by the swing won't get damaged by the wave.

Bows

Bows are items that can be equipped in a quick slot and used to fire arrows at enemies.

The Player firing an Expert Bow

The player's first bow is given to them by Robin. It can further be improved by Little J in exchange for gold, with further upgrades unlocking as the players progress through Story Mode.

The player starts with a 15 arrows capacity. This can be increased by +5 if the player has the Arrow Quiver, and by +10 if the player has the Extra Arrows perk in Arcade Mode.

There are two charge levels: the first one grants +75% damage to the arrow fired, while the second one grants an additional +10% damage for a total of +85%, and the ability for the arrow to pierce through an enemy once.

In Arcade Mode, all bows deal halved damage.
