Walkthrough
The entrance to Santa Fae is located in the south eastern zone of Seasonne. It is blocked by trees, and you need to complete the quest Toying With Danger to advance. Once you got the Essence of Spring from Mrs. Claus and have opened the path, you can proceed though Santa Fae and towards the Temple of Seasons.
Initially, all paths will be inaccessible, with the exception of the path forward that leads to the Summer & Autumn boss encounter. Defeating them will grant you the Season Change ability, and allows for further exploration of the temple.
The main hall contains two shortcuts that can be opened up as the player progresses through the temple. To advance through some rooms, smart usage of the Season Change ability will be required.
The left path is accessed by switching the main hall's season to summer; its first room contains a gauntlet with three enemy waves. Two interconnected rooms follow, in which you need to create a vine bridge to advance; after switching the second room's season to summer, entering by the waterfall entrance will force you to fight a single wave of summer enemies.
After crossing the vine bridge and returning to the main hall, you can use the lever to open one of the shortcuts. Switch the main's season to autumn and use the phase plate under the lily pad to access the season orb inside the temple's entrance.
Switching the season to summer and dropping down will trigger the Season Hydras boss fight. After defeating them, a permanent lily pad path will appear over the water body, and the right wing of the temple will become accessible.
Three more interconnected rooms follow, requiring use of season change skills to advance. To cross the water body in the third room, you need to switch its season to winter. Keep in mind that the block inside the second room can be moved if the season is switched to winter, and that the room behind the waterfalls has a gauntlet with four waves of enemies.
After getting past the water body, you can open the second shortcut. Switching the main hall's season to winter will remove the vine, opening up the path above. The room behind the vine contains a continuous gauntlet, which requires you to defeat a certain number of enemies before progressing. Switching to winter here will make the floor slippery due to the shallow water.
The top left path leads to a door with portraits of the four elders and a key door; you can get the key by going through the right path, creating a bridge towards the bottom right part of the puzzle room, and opening the chest there.
A difficult tunnel follows, with thorns, winds, and all three seasons active. In the middle, a gauntlet with three waves of enemies must be defeated; all enemies will be empowered, so make sure you're prepared for it.
After reaching the tunnel's end, you will end up back in Summer & Autumn's arena, on the ledge above. The season orb there allows you to open up a shortcut; the path above leads to the dungeon's final boss, Winter.
After defeating Winter, you can teleport back to HQ and turn in the quest at Dad.
Tips
- There are a few chests available in the dungeon:
- In the room with the shallow pool and three season orbs, going by the bottom left path will reveal a chest containing the
Earrings of Balance. The vines needed to access the chest grow after switching the season to summer using the orb on the other side of the room
- In the room with the key chest, switching the season to autumn will create a vine bridge and allow you to collect the cosmetic
Ski Goggles
- In the room with the wooden bridge pieces, you can stack the pieces in a different way to create a path towards the top chest; it contains the
Flower Whip
- In the room with the shallow pool and three season orbs, going by the bottom left path will reveal a chest containing the
- Autumn and Summer's bossfight is easier if you can kill the thorns summoned before they multiply. Skills that deal many hits or have high breaking power are especially useful:
- An uncharged Blade Flurry or Flamethrower cast can destroy the initial thorn easily, provided you aim well
- Silver Ice Spikes can instantly destroy thorns caught in its AoE
- If you have Frostling Boots, you should switch the season to winter during the Season Hydras boss fight. Due to the boots' ability, the ice ability of the Winter Hydra will be easier to handle, though you still need to avoid getting frozen by the ray.
- For the Winter boss fight, try to prioritize dodging during Winter's attack phases, and attack when he's idling about
