Ghost Hunt is an intermediary quest required to progress with The Ancient Temple. Upon completion, elite versions of enemies will be able to spawn in the world randomly.

- Find a Seed of Doubt
- Return to the hooded man
- Find a Root of Evil
- Return to the hooded man
Walkthrough
You can talk with the NPCs inside Pumpkin Woods, but only Bishop will advance the quest. He will be located next to the graveyard statue in the second area of Pumpkin Woods.
To complete the quest, you have to defeat 5 Elite enemies, and bring their unique drops to Bishop:
- Elite Lantern Jack inside the Ghosty spawn area
- Elite Ghosty near the tree stump west from the big field
- Elite Scarecrow near Candy's house
- Elite Jumpkin near the entrance of Pumpkin Woods
- Elite Halloweed inside the big field
Bishop first tasks you with killing the first four Elites. Once you've done that, you will also have to kill the stronger Elite Halloweed.
After completing the quest, you'll be able to proceed to the Flying Fortress without being warped to start.
Tips
- Against the Elite Ghosty, you want to kill all enemies nearby first so you can deal with it safely. Compared to regular Ghostys, it appears, attacks, and disappears quickly, but Perfect Guarding its attack reveals it for a small window, allowing you to damage it.
- The Elite Jumpkin is faster and more agressive, but it can still be interrupted by attacks, and Perfect Guarding its bites stops it temporarily.
- The Elite Lantern Jack has a much faster attack animation, and fires more projectiles. You can try positioning yourself diagonally from it so it can't attack you, or Perfect Guard the projectiles to reflect them back and kill it.
- The Elite Scarecrow has much more health. You can either whittle it down with spells from afar, or Perfect Guard its attacks and retaliate.
- Against the Elite Halloweed, you want to lure it away from all of the enemies in the big field. Its dig attack and swipes can be shielded, though it will swipe at a faster rate than a Bloomo if not Perfect Guarded.
