Cards
Cards are extremely rare items which can be dropped by enemies. Currently a card drops from every Common Enemy and each one provides a slight permanent buff. Cards can be looked at from your Journal.
Drop Mechanics
To be eligible for a card drop, an enemy also needs to be able to drop loot, or grant EXP. This means that Mrs. Bees spawned from Beehives and enemies summoned from Rift Crystals will never drop cards, along with other such examples.
Each enemy has a base drop chance for their card. After enough enemy kills are accumulated (this number can be tracked on the enemy's journal entry), the chance will start increasing with each subsequent enemy killed. This makes it likely that the enemy's card will drop in an acceptable amount of time spent grinding. It should be noted that cards wont drop until you have completed the quest The Collector's Exam.
It is possible to increase the card drop chance by using Bounty Potions. The potion effect can further be improved with the Fine Taste talent.
Some enemies benefit from increased card chance by doing additional rolls for the card:
- Elite enemies gain +10 rolls towards a card drop
- Enemies in Arcade Mode also gain +10 rolls towards a card drop. This stacks with the Elite modifier
